Twelve years ago we moved to Steamboat Springs and I was inspired to re-enter the art world. I began with oil painting, but was soon sidetracked by printmaking and eventually bought my own press. Ninety percent of my artwork is printmaking, which are mainly monotypes, with some woodcuts, etching, collagraphs, and linocuts. Printmaking is so versatile and evolutionary that new ideas continously arise from current projects.
My current printmaking indulgence is the number 3. I am imaging the sky, earth, and under-earth in some of my works and in others I am setting out puzzles to be solved by combining image components from three different photographs to create unique compositions that sometimes juxtapose nature and the man-made within a 9" x 19" vertical formatted monotype.
Pet portraits are also a focus related to my volunteer work for our local Routt County Humane Society.
